What is the Fuel Good Machine and How Does It Work?
We’re glad you asked! The Fuel Good Machine is an interactive kiosk system that is currently set up at the Longfellow Grill. The Fuel Good Machine powers the Blue Plate Gives campaign, a unique giving program that allows us (and our customers) to lend a helping hand to our neighbors. Diners at the Longfellow Grill will have the chance to drop a chip in the Fuel Good Machine featuring five neighborhood causes. The cause with the most votes at the end of the campaign will win $1,500. Runners up will each receive $250.
Here‘s How it Works:
- Voting – At the end of a meal, restaurant-goers will be presented with a plastic chip (minimum purchase of $10.00 per person, one chip per person, per visit). As they’re exiting the restaurant, the kiosk will prompt them to place their token in one of five slots to cast a vote for a given cause. Dropping the token into the slot will show a visible update on the screen and provide the latest standings for the poll.
- Giving – The organization with the most votes as of October 6 will receive a check for $1,500. Each of the 4 runners up will be awarded $250. On October 7 there will be a Happy Hour party at Longfellow Grill to announce winners and distribute funds.
See the Fuel Good Machine in action at Longfellow Grill’s Party with a Purpose on Wednesday, September 16th at 5:00pm (the last patio party of the season!). There will be beer by Indeed Brewing Company, great food and music, of course! Can’t make it? No problem, just eat at Longfellow any time between September 17th and October 6th for your chance to vote.
